Belgium has reached the Eurovision Song Contest top ten four times in the past ten editions. Lo\u00efc Nottet, Blanche, Laura Tesoro and Gustaph all delivered strong results. Belgium won the contest only once, in 1986 with Sandra Kim. But how have the various Belgian entries performed in the ESC250<\/em> over the years? Here\u2019s an overview.<\/p>\n

Across the years that the ESC250<\/em> has been organised by this website, we have seen thirteen Belgian entries appear in the fan-voted list.<\/p>\n

Record numbers<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The 2017 edition featured the highest number of Belgian entries. No fewer than eight Belgian Eurovision classics<\/strong> collected enough points to make it into the ESC250.<\/p>\n

High rankings for Blanche<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Two of them even reached the top ten<\/strong> in the first edition organised by this website, with City Lights<\/em> by Blanche (photo) finishing as the highest-ranked Belgian entry in fifth place.<\/p>\n

The Brussels-born singer managed to hold onto her ranking in 2018 and, in half of all ESC250 editions, City Lights was Belgium\u2019s best-performing Eurovision song<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Three times in the top ten<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Blanche shares that distinction with Lo\u00efc Nottet<\/strong>. Rhythm Inside<\/em> has appeared in the top ten three times, peaking at sixth place.<\/p>\n

The entries from 2015 and 2017 also share another unique achievement: neither has ever been absent from the ESC250<\/em>. In fact, every single year both Rhythm Inside<\/em> and City Lights<\/em> finished among the fifty songs with the highest number of points.<\/p>\n

One more Belgian entry came close to appearing in the ESC250<\/em> every year. Only in 2021 did Sanomi<\/em> by Urban Trad<\/strong> fail to make the list.<\/p>\n

Belgium\u2019s only Eurovision winner so far, Sandra Kim<\/strong>, missed out twice: in 2021 and 2022. Her highest position for J\u2019aime la vie<\/em> was 172nd place, achieved in 2017.<\/p>\n

Gustaph<\/strong> and Mustii<\/strong> also maintain a 100% score<\/strong> for now, having appeared in the list every year since their (recent) Eurovision participation.<\/p>\n

Four songs in the top 100<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Four Belgian songs reached the top 100. In addition to Lo\u00efc Nottet and Blanche, both Gustaph (98th) and Mustii (94th) received enough votes to finish inside the top hundred, each in the year of their Eurovision participation.<\/p>\n

With its 94th place, Before the Party\u2019s Over<\/em> is also the highest-ranking Belgian entry that did not qualify for the Eurovision final.<\/p>\n
