Estland zal in Portugal worden vertegenwoordigd door operazangeres Elina Nechayeva. Met het Italiaanstalige\u00a0La forza\u00a0<\/em>won ze de superfinale, en versloeg ze onder meer ex-Songfestivalkandidaat Stig R\u00e4sta.<\/p>\n

Tien songs stonden in de finale, die net als in de vorige jaren werd gehouden vanuit de Saku Suurhall, waar de Esten in 2002 nog het Songfestival huisvestten<\/a>. Een vakjury en televoting bepaalden de top drie die doorstootte naar de superfinale<\/strong>, waarin enkel de televisiekijkers in de Baltische staat het eindoordeel mochten vellen. Ze stemden massaal, maar vooral voor Nechayeva. Stig R\u00e4sta, die in 2015 nog Estland vertegenwoordigde samen met Elina Born,<\/a> werd tweede. De van oorsprong Russische zangeres was vorig jaar al te zien in\u00a0Eesti Laul<\/em>, als presentatrice tijdens de halve finales van de Estse muziekwedstrijd. In december vorig jaar gaf ze aan dat ze haar achternaam het liefst als Nechayeva geschreven ziet, in plaats van de offici\u00eble spelling Net\u0161ajeva<\/strong>. Ongeacht de achternaam neemt Elina net als onze Sennek deel aan de eerste helft van de eerste halve finale op dinsdag 8 mei.<\/p>\n
