Portugal wins ‘Barbara Dex Award 2019’ for the second time
Conan Osíris from Portugal missed out on the Grand Final of Eurovision but still takes home an award. Conan is the winner of the infamous Barbara Dex Award, the award for the most notable outfit. Cyprus and Belarus are numbers two and three.
Conan is the winner of this year’s Barbara Dex Award. He stood out in the semi final with his outfit completely in emerald green and his face jewelry. This is the second time Portugal takes home this award. In 2006 the group Nonstop also won.
A new record of votes cast
It was a close call until the end with a record amount of votes. We received around 4.000 votes. In the end Conan received the highest amount of votes. Tamta from Cyprus came in second and ZENA from Belarus completes the top three. Our own Belgian representative Eliot ended up in fourth place.

We received thousands of votes, showing that the award is still very popular among fans all over the world. This was the third time this website had the honour of handing out this award.
The Barbara Dex Award is named after Belgian representative Barbara Dex in 1993. Dex wore a dress she made herself. Everybody talked about it, unfortunately not about the beauty of it…
