TOP 250 2023

‘Cha Cha Cha’ by Käärijä tops the ‘ESC250’ of 2023

Not Chanel, not Loreen, but Käärijä takes the top spot in the annual ESC250. This popular chart, where fans submit their top ten most favorite Eurovision songs, sees a new number one for the second consecutive year. Songfestival.be received around 10,000 votes for this edition. For the first time, the ESC250 was fully available for listening on EFR12 Radio.

At the recent Eurovision in Liverpool, Finland impressively secured second place. Participant Käärijä even won the televoting in the final with his song Cha Cha Cha. The general public and Eurovision fans haven’t forgotten the cheerful singer, looking at his top position in the 2023 edition of the ESC250. He comes straight in at number one.

Loreen and Chanel

While she claimed gold at Eurovision, Loreen now takes home the silver. The huge hype surrounding Tattoo ensured that Euphoria doesn’t sit at two this year but at three. The previous number one, Chanel with SloMo, fought hard and landed in fourth place. Another Swedish entry, Cornelia Jakobs, rounds off the top five.

We’ll publish the complete top 250, along with all the songs that didn’t make it into the top 250, on January 1 throughout the day on our website. You’ll also be able to read trivia and facts about this year’s edition.

New beginning

Since Songfestival.be began organizing the ESC250 vote in 2017, the chart has gained popularity year after year. Not just in terms of the number of validated votes but also in its reach on social media. Especially on X, it’s a hot topic every year. Tweets with the hashtag #ESC250 are countless, making the countdown a trending topic.

This year also marked a new beginning for the ESC250. Our French radio partner, EFR12 Radio, took charge of the entire broadcast this time. This meant that the countdown had a proper host for the first time.
