Today at 4 pm start the finale of the fourteenth Junior Eurovision Song Contest, from the Mediterranean Conference Center in the Maltese capital Valletta.

Seventeen countries are taking part, including the Netherlands, with girls trio Kisses. Cyprus, Israel and Poland there after several years absence, while Montenegro, San Marino and Slovenia this year stay at home. Am Camille and Valerie Vella broadcast talk to each other. There are guest appearances by the Destiny Chukunyere Maltee, winner of the JESC 2015, the Bulgarian Poli Genova, presenter of the JESC 2015 and candidate of the ESF 2011 and 2016, and the Irish duo Jedward, candidates of the ESF 2011 and 2012. All candidates also sing the theme song together Embrace.

There is no televoting held: the points per country by a professional jury (50%) and a children’s jury (50%). The traditional points of one to twelve, without nine and eleven, are submitted by each country awarded twice, just like on the last Eurovision Song Contest. The employers make only the points of the juries points known. Then read the presenters for how many points the countries of all children’s juries have gotten, from low to high.

In addition to the 17 countries votes also three experts , each with the same weight as that of a voting country. It comes to the Swede Christer Björkman, the Dane Mads Grimstad and the previously mentioned Irish duo Jedward, that one voice turn has. Each country will also start with zero points on the scoreboard, instead of twelve, as happened in previous editions.
